Sarandë
The jewel of the Albanian Riviera
About Sarandë
Sarandë is a coastal resort town in southern Albania, often considered the unofficial capital of the Albanian Riviera. Its horseshoe-shaped bay, crystal-clear Ionian waters, and Mediterranean climate make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
Just a short boat ride from the Greek island of Corfu, Sarandë serves as a gateway to some of Albania's most spectacular attractions. The UNESCO World Heritage site of Butrint, an ancient Greek and Roman city, lies just 18 kilometers south. The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër), a mesmerizing natural spring, is another must-visit nearby attraction.
The town's waterfront promenade comes alive in summer with restaurants, bars, and cafés. Nearby beaches like Ksamil, with its pristine white sand and turquoise waters, offer some of the Mediterranean's most beautiful coastal scenery.
